Founder of Viña Galán and
from its centenary tradition
Wine tradition in Galan’s family started at the beginning of last century, with Manuel Galan Nilo. He arrived to Molina, a town located in the privilege valley of Lontue, to practice as a doctor in the town. A few years later, in 1914, Manuel purchased “Los Olivos” Vineyard, starting with the wine tradition in our family.
Later Alvaro Galan Besoain, the youngest of his sons, started working in different wine activities, becoming a recognized wine broker in Chile. He in turn, shared to his children the love and passion for the work, the country and the vines. That was how in 1991, along with his three sons, Alvaro, Jorge and Francisco, they bought the current lands of Galan Vineyards.
Alvaro, the eldest of the children is the general manager of the company, while Jorge and Francisco are the enologist and commercial manager respectively.
Today Galan Vineyards, with his fourth generation, directs management to the production of high quality wines, showing the world the privileged national terroir for the production of wines. Currently, the annual production is exported to more than 20 counties in Asia, Europe and America.
The trade name “Vitivinícola Siete Tazas Ltda” was adopted in honor of one of the most recognized area of the Maule region. Inside the “Radal Siete Tazas National Reserve”, you can find seven waterfalls and respective “cups” that Claro’s river of Molina has formed over thousands years.
